# US government employees will gain access to OpenAI AI technologies for $1

Within the next year, OpenAI will provide ChatGPT Enterprise to U.S. federal agencies for $1. This will make the company's technology "practically free" for employees of federal executive agencies.

"Efforts are focused on implementing one of the key areas of the Trump administration's Action Plan for Artificial Intelligence: powerful AI tools will be made available to the entire federal government so that employees can spend less time on bureaucratic red tape and paperwork, and more time on what they came to public service for: to serve the American people," the company's statement reads.

OpenAI noted that AI is already assisting government officials:

• employees of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania using ChatGPT saved an average of about 95 minutes a day on routine tasks;
• In North Carolina, 85% of participants in a 12-week experiment conducted by the state Department of Treasury reported a positive experience using the chatbot.

As part of the new initiative:

• each federal agency will gain access to advanced models through ChatGPT Enterprise for $1;
• a special community has been created for civil servants, individual learning platforms have been established, and introductory training sessions have been organized;
• will implement new security measures to protect confidential information.

In July, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman stated that personal conversations with ChatGPT are not legally protected. According to him, if necessary, the court can demand all the information that users shared with the chatbot.
