The Vietnamese government has made significant progress in the regulation of digital assets recently, demonstrating a clear determination to establish a legal framework for the industry and support its development.

• In October 2024, the government released the "National Blockchain Technology Development Strategy," which is planned to be implemented in 2025, aimed at strengthening the country's infrastructure and promoting Vietnam as a leader in regional blockchain technology applications.
• Starting from the end of 2024, the National Assembly will begin reviewing the "Digital Technology Industry Law", which clearly defines the legal definition of digital assets, and proposes pilot digital asset trading platforms in major financial centers such as Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang.
• The government also issued directives requiring a comprehensive legal framework for digital assets, including virtual assets and service providers, to be completed by May 2025.
