Tirana to Host Largest Blockchain Conference in Balkans, Signaling Web3 Momentum in Southeast Europe
Tirana, Albania, will host one of Southeast Europe’s most popular blockchain events to date, the Balkans Crypto 2025 conference, scheduled from May 29 to June 1, 2025. The four-day event will bring together developers, investors, startup founders, and policymakers from across the globe at Pallati i Kongreseve to showcase the region’s growing presence in the Web3 sector.
Organized with participation from Binance, Bitget, and the Albanian government, the conference displays both global institutional interest and national engagement. More than 70 speakers are expected to take the stage, including Nick Spanos, founder of Bitcoin Center NYC, Bitget COO Vugar Usi Zade, Binance Regional Head Kyrylo Khomiakov, and investor Karel Janeček. Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama is also expected to address the audience, affirming the government’s alignment with digital infrastructure initiatives.
Startups to Compete in Cointelegraph Pitch Session
One of the conference’s central components will be a live startup pitch competition presented by Cointelegraph. Early-stage crypto and Web3 ventures will present to a panel composed of founders, investors, and media stakeholders. The event aims to provide visibility and networking access for projects working in sectors such as decentralized finance, blockchain-based infrastructure, and digital identity systems.
Additionally, winners will be evaluated on innovation, use-case relevance, and technical feasibility. Organizers have positioned the competition as a launchpad for regional talent and a gateway for projects to access further development support and investor dialogue.
Program Covers DeFi, NFTs, and Blockchain Regulation
The conference agenda includes panel sessions and keynotes across three stages. Topics to be discussed range from AI integration in blockchain protocols to developing NFT use cases and regional regulatory trends. The program’s scope is intended to provide comprehensive insight into emerging blockchain technologies, legal frameworks, and cultural applications.
The speaker list includes professionals from major industry platforms and institutions, providing cross-sector analysis and case studies. Discussions will also touch on infrastructure development and new tools shaping blockchain accessibility in the region.
In addition to the core conference sessions, organizers have scheduled curated side events that incorporate local culture. Attendees will have access to traditional music performances, rakia tastings, and evening networking sessions.
