Circle IPO first day stock price rose 168%, peers MSTR and MARA fell.
Gate News bot news, with USDC stablecoin issuer Circle going public on Wall Street, this is expected to be a typical liquidity reshuffle, with top Crypto Assets stocks facing dumping pressure. Michael Saylor's Strategy (MSTR) fell 2.46%, wiping out all gains from the past week.
On the other hand, Bitcoin miner Marathon Digital (MARA)'s stock price also fell more than 5% yesterday.
Circle was listed yesterday with the trading code CRCL, and the issuance price was 69 USD, which is over a 100% rise from its IPO price of 31 USD. Its stock price once rose to 103.75 USD, closing at 83 USD on Thursday.
As of the market close on that day, the trading volume of CRCL surged to about 46 million shares, far exceeding the number of available circulating shares for trading. However, market experts warn retail investors not to have a "FOMO" mentality towards CRCL.
Crypto KOL Arthur Hayes compared the 2017 ICO frenzy to the 2025 Crypto Assets IPO wave. Hayes wrote on social media: "This is the beginning of a frenzy." He also noted that this IPO wave will draw a significant amount of fiat capital. Hayes warned that there may be some pitfalls in the future.
